What makes ARMEX® the best baking soda abrasive?
While the idea for ARMEX® started with just plain baking soda, as the world's leader in bicarbonate technology ARM & HAMMER® formulated more than a dozen unique medias to specially meet industry surface preparation requirements.
ARMEX® Cleaning and Coating Removal Systems have become an effective, economical and environmentally superior method for cleaning, depainting and degreasing across the country, and around the world.
Why Baking Soda?
It's granular - suitable for use in pressure pots, cabinet systems and as an additive for pressure washer systems.
It's sharp - baking soda crystals delivered under relatively low pressure but at high velocity will scour virtually any coating from any substrate.
It's friable - meaning it fractures into smaller particles intensifying the cleaning action while softening the impact on substrates.
It's relatively soft - with a Moh's hardness of 2.5, it will not damage most substrates*
It's benign pH of 8.2 - provides a superior worker and environmental profile, before, during, and after use.

Maintenance, Maintenance w/ SupraKleen, Maintenance XL, Maintenance XL w/ SupraKleen

Standard Formulas
These Formulas are valued-priced and appropriate for most cleaning and paint removal applications.
Maintenance Formula
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf)
Formulated using our medium sized crystals and our standard moisture control system, MoistureGuard® 2, which absorbs moisture before it can create flow problems. Maintenance Formula is value priced and is appropriate for most cleaning and paint removal applications.
Maintenance Formula XL
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf) Formulated using our largest "XL" crystals and our standard moisture control system, MoistureGuard® 2, absorbing moisture before can cause flow problems. The "XL" crystals are the most aggressive and ideal for most paint removal applications.
SupraKleen®
Our patented rinse accelerator, improves cleaning capabilities, simplifies cleanup and provides a cleaner surface - fundamental to maximizing coating adhesion.
Maintenance Formula with SupraKleen™
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf) Has all the features of Maintenance Formula with the added benefit of our patented rinse accelerator which improves cleaning capabilities, simplifies clean-up and provides a cleaner surface which is fundamental for maximizing coating performance.
Maintenance Formula XL withSupraKleen™
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf) Performs like Maintenance Formula XL with the added benefit of our patented rinse accelerator, SupraKleen. For use when a clean surface is required for repainting.

Flow Formula M, Flow Formula XL

Premium Formulas
Our premium moisture control system, MoistureGuard® 8, makes our Flow Formulas virtually waterproof before and during the blasting process. Abrasive flow problems due to humidity or poor air quality are virtually eliminated using these formulas. This moisture barrier is broken after delivery to the surface allowing the crystal to once again become water-soluble.

Flow Formula M™
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf)
Similar to Maintenance Formula in that it is made with our medium sized crystals, but contains our premium moisture control system, MoistureGuard® 8.
Flow Formula XL™
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf) Formulated using our largest "XL" crystals and our premium moisture control system, MoistureGuard® 8. Designed for maximum productivity and superior flow in the presence of moisture.

Profile Formula XL, Profile Formula XL2 (available only as export), Profile Formula XL2+, Turbine Formula

Profile Formulas
These formulations are significantly more aggressive, increasing productivity and capable of providing a white metal finish and 1.5-4.0 mil profile on steel. Not recommended for sensitive surfaces.

Profile™ Formula XL
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf) Manufactured with the "XL" crystals, our standard moisture control system and 10% 70 grit hard abrasive. It typically provides a 25% increase in productivity, white metal finish and 1.5- 2.0 mil profile on steel.
Profile™ Formula XL2 (only available as export)
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf) This variation contains 20% 70 grit hard abrasive and is used where greater productivity is required.
Profile™ Formula XL2+
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf) This formula utilizes 20% 36 grit hard abrasive, providing a 3.0-4.0 mil profile on steel.
Turbine Formula
Technical Data (pdf) Material Safety Data Sheet (pdf) Formulated specifically to remove carbon and mineral deposits from gas, steam and direct combustion turbine blades. Ideal for removing burn marks on steel and stainless steel, or heavy carbon deposits on various engine parts.
